Long live the King of Pop
:
Even if you weren't a fan of him, you have to admit Michael Jackson was truly talented in all aspects of songwriting, singing, and dancing. I watched the memorial today and it was just so touching. His family was sitting in the front row while people that were his friends went up to deliver a speech or to perform. At the end of the memorial, when MJ's family and friends went up to sing "We Are the World" and when his family said their goodbyes to Michael...their grief was everywhere. And then when his daughter Paris gave her first public speech and said how much she loved her dad, I have to admit, I cried with them. Even if I didn't know Michael Jackson personally, or even if I wasn't born yet during the height of his singing career, he still influenced me through his songs. I listened to his songs since I was five, and then had an obsession with them a year ago. I admired him as a musician very much. Then I had a curious fascination with him in the later years of his life, but I didn't believe the things that some people accused him of being - of course he was cleared of all charges. It's just still so hard to comprehend that he is gone from the world, but his music will live on.
Sorry~ I had an emotional moment. I've been re-listening to all his music again; they really do have powerful messages in them. And probably in these next couple of weeks all my graphics will incorporate his songs or something...something I do when I have muse, and this emotional muse is what's fueling me to make graphics.
